As Lhust put on her apron, she went over to check out tonights schedule. "Oh man, I have to work with Lohre?"
"Yups. Don't be means to him, okays?" Frankie went back to his work table and pounded away at some dough, pushing it out to make a flat sphere.
"Please, stop with the accent. I swear."She shook her head as she tightened the apron strings. "And Lohre is freaking annoying. Why couldn't you schedule him with Torke?"
"Wills yous stop being mean to him?" Frankie tossed his pizza dough in the air and caught it, stretching it with his fist to make the perfect circle.
"Will you stop sounding like an idiot." Shaking her head, Lhust punched in her punch card and got to work. Grabbing her note pad and pen from her apron pocket, she moved from behind the counter and took a couples order.
"I recommend the Meat Lovers."
"Eys, why don't chu recommends the Italian style." Frankie yelled from the back.
Lhust glared at her note pad, the vampire couple trying their best not to laugh. "Because you aren't freaking Italian." She murmured.
"Come ons. Get the Italian Lovers. Its goods."
"Putting italian sausage on a pizza isn't considered that much Italian." She murmured again and this time the couple laughed.
"Just ignore him." She said and walked away with the order. Ripping the sheet of paper, she stuck it to the order holder and rung the bell. "Order. One small MEAT LOVERS!" She emphasized.
"That's colds Lhust. Cold to the hearts." Frankie pounded at his chest, shaking his head with hurt.
Instead of materializing at the Mansion, Rhage followed the waters scent. He could feel her watching from above after he left her with the ashes of the lessers. Why was she gathering information? Rhage was going to find out.
He walked into Frankie's Pizza as he watched the woman in black walk away to put a couples order in. She had an apron on, which didn't look right on her. He smirked and walked over to a booth and sat down. He pulled out a menu and folded it out and held it above his face to hide his identity until she walked over and asked for his order.
After a minute...okay, more like five minutes going back and forth with Frankie, Lhust finally turned away from him. She had heard the little bell on the door chime, but instead of turning away from Frankie to quickly greet them, Frankie just couldn't shut the hell up for five damn minutes. "Just shut up." She said over her shoulder.
Shaking her head, she walked up to the new customer and greeted them with a friendly smile. "Good evening, what can I-" She stopped, the words cut off instantly. Fucking serious? He was here? Of all places. She narrowed his eyes. Why the hell was this warrior here? Was he trying to cause trouble for her? Pursing her lips, Lhust just stared at him for a few moments. He wouldn't dare make a scene, not here. Frankie and the others didn't know what she did at night, so the last thing she wanted was for him to get involved in her affair.
She should mess with him as pay back for taking her fucking info. Clearing her throat, she plastered on a smile and spoke once again. "Sorry about that. What can I get for you, ma'am." She said with such emphasis. Lhust could only smirk. Dare you to do something, you ass hat.
The tip of her pen was pressing way to hard against her note pad. She stared at the male, her eye twitching with annoyance. "Lucy?" She repeated, not loving the little pet name. "Sorry, sir, but I don't think we have that sort of drink. We do have Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, Fruit Punch. Which would like?" No way was she going to do any explaining, not here. Not to him.
From behind, a little bell was rung and Frankie yelling. "Orders up."
"Excuse me." She gave a little nod and walked away.
"Ey, everything goods?" Frankie asked, seeing Lhust's face. He turned to look at the male seated at the booth near the wall.
"All good." She grabbed the Pizza tray and a holder and walked over to the couple. "Here we go. Nice and hot." She set the holder on the table and played the tray. Going back, she brought them some plates and silver ware and refilled their drinks.
Unable to hold him off any longer, Lhust returned to the warrior. "Ready to order or you just taking up space?" She asked with a bit of annoyance.
Rhage sighed. A woman just as stubborn as he was. "I can wait, but while I'm waiting I'll make you work for it. I'll take a Large Meat Lovers, extra Bacon. Large Coke. Thanks."
Rhage leaned back and tapped the table. "Stat. Unless of course, you'd like to sit down. Lhust, daughter of Dhemise."
Lhust wrote everything down, but when he mentioned that last little tib bit, her hand had pressed so hard on the order pad that it rolled over, making a harsh line. Her eyes widened as she stared at him. "H-How do you...." Her lips tightened into a harsh line.
This can't be real. This can't be fucking real. How the hell does he know who my father is? How anyone would know about her dad was a question that needed to be answered. How safe was it to talk to this male? Starring at him for a few more minutes, she turned away quickly, ripping off the ruined order, she tossed that one and re-wrote the order. "Order up." she practically shouted to Frankie as she tapped onto the little bell a few times. Moving behind the counter, she grabbed a plastic cup and filled it with ice and Coke and brought it to the warrior, along with a straw and a few napkins. Sitting, more like plopping herself down, she stared at the male. "Talk. How do you fucking know me and my dad?"
Rhage had her attention now. And his guess was right. That wasn't too hard. He got pretty lucky this time. Rhage smiled and leaned his elbows against the table as he strummed his fingers against his chin. "Well... lets see... do you really expect me to not learn up on my Brothers, even if they choose to leave for other reasons?"
Rhage put his hands down and took a long drink out of the coke and then sat back. "Okay, so I didn't really know if you were his daughter, but you sure as hell look a lot like the pictures I've seen of him. What are you doing gathering shit from Lessers? Daddy got you on missions now? I knew the way those eyes of his looked, he wanted out of the Brotherhood, but not away from those Lessers. Your eyes are the same way, warrior eyes."
"you fucking guessed who I was? Seriously??" To hear that he fucking made a guess pissed her the right off. She freaking snatched at that bit of bait like an idiot. She should had know better. "What I'm doing is none of your business alright." Well....technically it was his business, but no way was she going to let him get all up in her face. "So, you gonna tell good ol' Blind King and the rest of the Brotherhood about me and my dad?" If he did, that would be the end of her little hunting. She couldn't stop. Didn't want to. Her father had allowed her to do this, even encouraged it and she fell in love instantly.
"You won't be able to make me stop and like hell am I going to do whatever you or the King says." rebellious words. Was she an idiot? No. She was the daughter of a warrior. A Brother.
Rhage was caught off guard by her hate towards the Brotherhood and their King, but he wasn't going to let it show. "I'd watch what you say around me, I'm not your average Joe. And if I tell you to stop, you will stop. I will not be the only one making sure of that. I don't believe your Father wants a visit from the King himself. They fought hand in hand once upon a time, and it wasn't a great see-ya-later type of break off."
Rhage sighed. "However, I'm willing to let you keep fighting, in secret. As long as you tell me what you're doing, or better yet, why you are doing it? It's not every day you meet someone, let alone a woman, wanting to kill creatures that creep after Vamps."
Rhage looked around. "Or works in a Pizza shop as a side trick."
"And I'm not your average female, so don't push me. Don't forget, my father was-" Still is technically, "- a Brother, so he taught me everything. So don't think I won't be able to take you." Hearing the bell chime, Lhust looked over, seeing Frankie standing behind the counter, staring at both of them. "Excuse me." She slipped from the booth and went over.
"Everything still good?" He said, his voice having lost that accent and was now more serious sounding.
"do me a favor. Have Lohre deal with the other customers, yeah." She grabbed the pizza and a holder and walked back to the booth. Setting the holder and the tray on it, Lhust sat back down. "My dad made sure to keep himself well hidden from you guys. Don't think you'll be getting anything out of me." She sat back and crossed her arms. "And it was Wrath's fault more than anything, just FYI." Though she doubted the good ol' King would admit to anything.
Sighing, she looked away from him. "I find it hard to believe that you'll just let me keep doing what I'm doing. You Brothers are loyal to the King. Like hell will you guys keep anything from him." She looked back at him. "You'll tell your King about me, whether I tell you or not why I'm killing. And as for why I work here, I need something else to entertain me during the nights I'm not killing."
God, this was so not the way she had wanted to be discovered, let alone be grilled here where there was witnesses. "I think you should just give up and leave me alone. You won't get nothing else from me and like hell am I going to tell you where it is me and my father live."
Rhage took a slice of pizza off the tray and started eating. Fighting was hard work. Made a man hungry. And this chick was so high up on her almighty horse, it was a show and dinner at the same time. "I don't know what is up your butt, but you need to get some shit straight..."
Rhage smirked. "One. The King is a lot more humble then you believe. Not sure why, maybe your Father is the one filling you up with lies. It would be pretty hard to look up to someone who ran away, so why not tell you a story to make you believe something else?"
At this point, Rhage was just throwing invisible darts. He's heard stories about Dhemise. He was such a great warrior, but then up and left. Wrath and him got into a huge argument. To this day Wrath beats himself up, but won't go after him. He was his brother, and if his brother wanted peace, then he was going to let him have it. That's how Wrath was with all of the Brothers actually now that he thinks about it. There have only been a few times where Wrath pulled the "King" act. Hell, even the Scribe Virgin knew he hated being King. He was ready to be done. It got so much worse when he found out he had a daughter. Poor Beth.
Rhage shook his head and grabbed another slice. He had to stop thinking. More about Lhust, less about the royal family. He looked up and sighed. "You don't know us, so why do you judge us so? You have no idea who I am. And I won't tell the King. But if I catch you out there by yourself doing what you did tonight, you're done. You can't be taking lesser information, especially when we need it."
Rhage stood up after consuming a third and fourth slice. He grabbed his coke and downed it. After setting it down he looked down at Lhust. "You may think you're helping the race, but by working against the Brotherhood, and you are working against us, you're hurting them. You're helping those lessers break into civilian homes and murder their children while making the civilians watch. That's on your head, not mine."
Rhage turned around and walked straight out of the pizzeria, without letting her say a word back to him. She'd have to ponder those thoughts. He dematerialized to the mansion in a matter of seconds. He hoped she would noticed the $40 he slipped down on the table behind the pizza, along with a card with a number on it. If she had any questions that needed answered, she'd call. He left that conversation wide open.
