For two weeks it had been the same story at every place he had gone to. They weren't hiring, the were full staffed. No one seemed to be able to help him. And soon he needed to find some kind of job other wise he wouldn't be able to keep his apartment. As crappy as it was. It was still a roof over his head and some place he could keep Luck without the cat getting lost. So as he walked along the street he looked at all the buildings. There had to be some place around here that was willing to hire him. Seeing Sal's across the street he paused for a moment. It wouldn't hurt to check again would it?
With that thought in mind, he jogged across the street, dodging the few cars that were around, and walked inside the resturant. Instantly he realized that he was a bit out of place. For once he just didn't seem to fit. He looked tired, his hair a mess, his cloths a little rumpled from walking around all day. Not to mention the worn down leather jacket that looked like it needed to be retired. His jeans were faded from hard work, with one small hole at the right knee. Least he didn't smell like some of the people he had passed today.
Stepping over to the hostess, he paused for a moment before giving a small smile. "I was wondering if I could fill out a job application." The instant look he got told him that the answer was a no. Signing he actually ran a hand through his hair. "Alright... Alright. I guess I'll have a bite to eat. Only when he was shown to a table and handed a menu did he look around at everyone else here.
"Yeah.. so don't belong here." he muttered before looking at the menu. And instantly regretted it. Alot of this was more than he could afford. He just hoped they had something he could eat here. Sure a few things were in his budget, but he didn't know if he'd be able to stomach them or not. Every now and then his stomach decided to just say nope not going happen. It wasn't always but he generally had to be picky bout what he could eat. Figuring something out, he looked around the place again. Watching the staff and the other people enjoying their meals or even their time with other people. Everything about this place just made him realize just how alone he was here at the table.
