OVERALL APPEARANCE:

Mary has always had a bit of a "homely" appearance for herself. She never felt like making herself look "beautiful" especially when she'd be getting her radiation treatments. Rhage was the first person to find her "beautiful" when she never tried. Now even if she just wears a button down shirt and shorts he makes her feel like she is wearing a ball gown and a corset. Though she does try corsets around him in private.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:

Mary has never been fully confident in herself as the most "glamorous" or "beautiful" out there. She was never considered "special" by her parents so when Rhage found interest in her, she had to find it sarcastic. She spent so long losing her hair and losing weight that it always took too long to bring back both along with her confidence. But since she mated Rhage and found her calling at Safe Place, things have become so wonderful and amazing. Death now has a block in Mary's life, and she can continue to help others with the compassion she has. 

When Rhage disappears at night, Mary feels the twinge of fear she had when she was told the cancer was possibly back. There is always the unease and unknown as a shellan of the Brotherhood as to how your mate will return. Mary is usually the one settled in with the other females waiting for their men, and she is the first out of her chair when the door opens. She is strong and can handle when he is injured, and also caring of the other Brothers. She spends her time still tutoring Zsadist privately to help him and that makes her feel even more important when in her prior life she was just another face in the crowd.

HISTORY: Mary was named after the Mary Madonna by her mother, a devout Catholic. After watching her mother die of cancer, Mary's worst fears were a reality when she herself found herself under chemotherapy and radiation treatments for the same disease. After kicking cancer the first time, Mary took up a position as an accountant and also helped out at the suicide hotline. It is there she first meets John Matthew through the phone, even though she never speaks to him for some time. When Rhage finds her perfect in his eyes, she sees it impossible to believe because Rhage is such a "Pretty boy". When she is given the gift of immortality by the Scribe Virgin, it is given with a trade. Mary is unable to have children of her own due to all the chemotherapy and it was felt this was the perfect 'Trade off". Rhage never believed he'd find his mate let alone a human one, and now Mary gets to be with Rhage until the end of time and gets to choose when that time may be for her.
