Mary pulled open the huge wooden doors that lead into the one place she felt the most comfortable. The Library. As she walked in her eyes lit up. There were thousands and thousands of books. She heard a noise towards the back left and quickly turned to the right. If Saxon was working tonight she didn't want to bother him. The point of coming to the Library was to dive into a good book, and to not be so alone. It was Rhage's turn out tonight so she was alone, which she didn't always hate. There was just something about tonight that gave her an odd feeling.
Mary knew exactly where she was going. After turning down a couple isles of books she found her section. Romantic Fantasy. She laughed to herself as she pulled down a new book. "Fantasy, what is fantasy anymore? I'm living in a fantasy..."
Mary held the book close as she made her way to the middle of the Library, where a very large fluffy chair was waiting for her. That was one thing money could provide for that she didn't hate, comfortable furniture. Mary looked around and sighed happily as she eased down into the chair. She sat sideways, kicking her legs over one of the arms of the chair while leaning her back against the other. She sank her butt down further so it almost looked like she was laying down, in a very awkward position. She was ready to fall into this new world of 'Demon Lover'. Mary smirked as she opened the book, thinking about the title. ...Demons are nothing, especially when I love a beast...

As Rhaine followed the glowing light in the hallway, she had to wonder just who was in the library at this time of night. All the men were out fighting, of course without her. Maybe later tonight she'd strap on her own leathers and sneak out without them knowing. For once she finished her Father's paperwork, allowing him some quiet time with Beth. Poking her head inside, she smiled and saw Saxton sitting behind mounds of white sheets. His hands were flowing faster than hers ever could through pages, and with a small nod and smile she turned the other way.
She let her bare feet guide her down a long rug until she saw Mary sitting in a chair. The smirk on the lady's face made Rhaine smile inside. All the shellans in the house seemed so happy and at peace even when their lovers were out battling the unknown. Man what Rhaine wouldn't give to feel something like that with one particular brother.
"Whatcha reading?"

As Mary heard Rhaine's voice she felt herself jump and yelp. Of course she over-reacted, but she knew something was off tonight so she was already on edge. Did she just jump clear out of her chair? Mary looked at her body and closed her eyes. ...You're still sitting. Calm the fuck down...
Mary slipped the fabric bookmark she brought with her to save her spot. It was part of Rhage's leathers that the beast ruined, but since she was handy with a sewing machine, Mary fixed a piece to look like a bookmark. She closed the book and looked up at Rhaine. "Oh, just a book. It's about this girl who falls in love with a man who is possessed by the devil. It's interesting. What are you doing in here? Figured you'd be working out those womanly muscles of yours in the gym."

Figured you'd be working out those womanly muscles of yours in the gym." Rhaine smirked and shook her head walking over, finding another chair that looked just like Mary's current seat. Grasping at the arms, she stepped backwards listening to the legs scratch along the carpet, not really caring if she left any kind of loose threads. At this point she learned everything in this house was replaceable with another antique relic so who cared? From what she heard recently her Father went berserk on the billiard room and the whole thing had to be re-done. Bringing the chair over, she sat down and flipped her legs over one side, crossing them in the process just for "girly" emphasis. "I thought about it but there's only so much the gym can do before you get tired of being stuck in yet another room."
Glancing around, Rhaine saw how high each wall went, and the exceptionally tall windows. The only thing that made her sadder than she normally would be was knowing that 98% of the windows in the mansion didn't open. When she wanted to feel the night breeze she either had to go outside or stand in her own bathroom. "What a waste." she thought, before looking back at Mary. "Rhage on rotation tonight?"

Mary cringed as she watched Rhaine drag the beautiful antique chair over to where she was sitting. She couldn't help but think about the journey that chair had gone through, what amazing vampire had sat in it's seat, or even human. This whole house was full of amazing items, and she wasn't even an artsy critic, but it amazed her. Suddenly Rhaine's words clicked in her head. "Oh yes, he's on rotation. Tonight and tomorrow and then he gets a day off. He really hates those days off, but I enjoy them."
Mary smirked as she thought of his last night off. That was when the beast came out through Rhage, twice. She felt her cheeks get red and her body shudder just thinking about how amazing it was. Mary knew she had to change her thought process. She looked up at Rhaine and smiled. "So, have you talked to your Father much more about going out with the boys, or maybe with Xhex?"

Shaking her head, Rhaine's eyes dipped down and her gaze sadly hit the floor. "After the guys publicly announced they felt I was better suited sitting behind the desk and not following them in the streets, I don't think I want that kind of humiliation again by asking." Of course she couldn't completely complain, she did like spending time with her Father and getting work done. She loved watching George chase his ball or chew on his squeak toy making Wrath chuckle as he tried to keep up with all his own duties. The redhead looked at Mary then smiled softly. "This room is really quiet, you can get lost here I think."

Mary laughed softly. "Isn't that the point? I love getting lost in here. I always find something new every time I do."
She looked around and then heard the loudest rumble ever. "Did you just hear that?"
Mary looked down and laughed while rubbing her stomach. "I think I'm hungry! Want to join me in the kitchen?"
Mary jumped up and slipped the book under her arm, looking down at Rhaine and smiling.
**Mary leaves Library to head to Kitchen**
