RP SAMPLE
“Arden look at me. Come on look at me.” The soft masculine voice drew Arden’s tear filled green hues up to the face that she knew so well. A smile had curved his lips up, his soft hands cupping her hands as he kept her from looking at the chaos around them. People were screaming, panicking as the plane continued going out of control. The plane was new but not so new that would cause the worry. It was the strange black space that had opened up in their path in the air. The screams kept echoing in her mind causing her to scrunch her eyes as a few more tears had slipped past her eyes; they were going to die.
“I know what you’re thinking and don’t you dare think about that. We are not going to die Arden. We are going to be just fine”. The soft words gave her a new set of confidence and made her open her eyes again, staring into the face of her best friend; the love of her life. She had never thought that love had existed sure she had thought that prince charming would come riding on his steed and sweep her away but she didn’t know it would happen; especially to her. They had been around each other for years and he was never a thought in her brain. They lived in two completely different lives in school; it was high school that she had seen him in a whole new light.
Ever since she had witnessed him standing up for a few kids being bullied and being saved from a jock that tried to have his way with her, she knew that she couldn’t be without him. He may not be as muscular as the others that she had been with but he was the knight in shining armor that she had dreamed of when she was a child. Even now he hadn’t changed in her eyes; he was her wall and shoulder to cry on when her days had gone to crap. Been there to read over her papers for her psychiatrist classes, kept her sane through the hardest of her tests, and when days never seemed to go right.
The plane gave a hard jerk to the right which emitted a chorus of screams from the passengers aboard and drew Arden from her wondrous memories. Her eyes shifted around frantically but were instantly drawn back to Kassian’s face as he stroke tenderly at her cheeks; that warming smile still plastered to his face. She knew that he was masking his own fear for her own benefit. “I love Arden. We are going to be just fine. Your trust me right”? Her head bobbled in his head, her bottom lip trembling as fresh tears threatened to spill down her face. “Yes. You know I do”. He brought their faces closer, resting their foreheads against each other. “We are going to be just fine. I love you Arden”. Their faces closed the short distance as their lips locked. The plane did another sharp turn and then all that she knew had gone dark.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A strong arm jerked Arden from the darkness that had consumed her. The stark bleakness was suffocating her; it was so hard to breath. Heavy pressure on her stomach expelled that suffocating feeling as a torment of water gushed out of her mouth; her lungs grasping for the oxygen that it desperately needed. She sputtered as the water made it’s way out of her lungs. She opened her eyes to find herself on her hands and knees, head low to the sandy-gritty ground as the last of the water dribble from her lips. Her eyes instantly shot up to her surrounding; she instantly regretted it.
It was so bright, everything was. Never had she seen such color in her life and she was so used to seeing so much brilliant color from the art that Kassian always produced. With her eyes still closed she reached out blindly, looking for that pressure that she had felt earlier. Her hand didn’t find the grasping hand but the other way around. She instantly drew herself against the figure, it instantly becoming familiar to her. “See, I told you that we were just going to be fine”, his soothing words floating into her ear as his arms found its way around her waist. She buried her head into his neck, the tears that were so few in the plane now gushed freely like a waterfall.
“Where are we Kassian”. She felt his shoulders rise and fall as a shrug. “I have no clue Arden. I never remember learning of a place with such bright colors”. Opening her green hues she made the scan around the beach. The trees were farther back but they didn’t look like those on earth; they were for sure not on earth. The other thing she noticed was that there were no other bodies or beings around them. Were they the only one to survive?
She clutched to her safe net, so many things flooding her brain. What were they to do? How were they to survive? Would they survive? It was almost too much for her to take. “I’m sure there are others out there. We couldn’t have been the only to survive”. There was a thud of feet then she was wretched right from the arms of her love and right over the shoulder of a monstrous hulky beast. The panic set in instantly as screams rang from her throat; her green hues shooting up to Kassian as he fought to her but there seemed that there would be no way. His fight to her was halted by more hulking beasts. Helpless as she was, she had to watch as he was forced to the ground and then dragged off into the dense forest. Her screams for his rang out more and more, her fists pummeled the back of the brute that carried her but he seemed to take no notice of it as he took her off the beach and into the dense bright forest.
