Welcome to Caldwell, New York, where there is a war going on between vampires and their evil counterparts, the Lessers. Lessers are a group of soulless humans that are set on killing off all vampires. The Black Dagger Brotherhood is a group of warriors that have been fighting Lessers for hundreds of years. These warriors fight hard, party hard, and love even harder. They have finally found love and seem to be happy. While still fighting the Lessers, a new enemy has appeared, an enemy of their own kind. The Band of Bastards is this enemy. The Band of Bastards has gone so far as to try and kill the King, Wrath. The Band Of Bastards leader Xcor, is set on taking over as King of the Vampire world. A death sentence has been handed down for Xcor, and secrets are about to come to light that are going to change everyones' lives forever. The Scribe Virgin is about to reveal a secret so big that it will not only effect the Black Dagger Brotherhood but the Band Of Bastards as well.

Evee laughed and shook her head. "I really hope you don't think about my posts on Facebook like that!"
She winked and then sighed, leaning her elbow against the table. "I kind of don't want to know. I'd be really afraid of not seeing any of the signs. Mysteries are more fun anyway, right?"
Evee laughed and shook her head. "Shit, I don't know."
She took her last bite of food and sank back into her seat, smiling big. "This food was amazing. Vahlour, great job!"
Evee turned back to Reia and smiled. "I think you should keep this one around a bit, he's a good cook."
" I was thinking I would keep him around for sometime... I told you he was a really good cook, he made me so many things over the last week, and as bad as some of them looked they always tasted really really good...though you should smell him... he always smells really good" she realized that he was still there and blushed a little bit.
" I haven't even managed to find a bottle of cologne to suggest its not him .... does Vihktor right? Does Vihktor wear anything that smells good?" she figured she would move the topic off herself for a moment.
Reia moved picking her cellphone off the counter in the kitchen and she would check out the calendar " I have the next week off we should go shopping... we should hang out and you can tell me about your date! I can tell you about what we do or don't do if it's never anything or if its something...I don't know "
Evee thought back to the night in the restaurant. She hadn't really smelled anything except the food. The park flashed to her mind and she smiled. "He smells like... walking through an orange orchard. Sometimes it's like a wiff of citrus, but then the next second it's a dark woodsy smell. It's nothing like I've ever smelt before."
Evee blushed and lowered her eyes. "He tastes sweet, like berries. I don't know why..."
Evee smirked and sighed in her chair. "We should stop talking about him. I can't wait for tomorrow night. But I don't think he wears cologne, although that might be the woodsy smell? Not sure. I think it's just him... and as for hanging out I completely agree!"
Vhalour would shake his head a little bit and he would go to answer their questions ... but they were so excited that before he could answer anything ... they would go on talking to each other ... and act as if he wasn't there.
He would listen in amusement as he ate ... and well he figured he should remind them that he was there ... but it was just too amusing. He let it go on for a little bit .... before he finally spoke up, "You females realize ... that ... I'm right here ... at least if we are talking about me having sex with Reia here ... that I be included in the conversation."
He wondered just what the reaction would be ... since ... well he was sure that they had actually forgotten that he was there, "That and I don't mind giving you tips and tricks to handle your male."
Evee turned her head as Vahlour spoke up. He was being awfully quiet, and even though she knew he was there, she really hadn't thought about it. "I'm sorry, that was really rude of me... but, speaking of sleeping with my person here. I will warn you, you hurt her, I hurt you. I don't care if I die in the making. I will hurt you."
She glared at Vahlour, making her point. She would sacrifice her life in a second without thinking about it for Reia. Evee sighed and smiled. "Okay, enough of the threats... about my.... male, which I'm not even sure I can call him that..."
Evee looked back and forth. "Oh hell, I don't even know what to think or say about the matter. I'm pretty much in limbo here. I haven't ever felt like this, not that I can remember. If I have, I can say with full confidence it's been quite a long time, at least 75 years..."
She blushed as she talked about how long it had been since she had even a simple feeling towards another male. Suddenly she felt so alone, and was so thankfully to have Reia in her life.
Reia looked over to him, and she would shake her head a little bit as she looked to Ehnvee her eyes looking her over top to bottom as she thought about the expressions she was seeing and she shook her head a little bit. " Hey, it doesn't matter how long its been remember! You have me, you're my person, I'm your person and nothing and no one gets between that!" she would nod as if that strengthened her point.
" Don't worry I know you are still here you are just being so quiet its hard to remember that you like to talk" she winked to Vhalour as she stood and started to gather the dinner plates.
Reia smirked as she moved to the kitchen ands he would look to Evee " So I was thinking I might drop working at Jade Gardens now that I look more like a woman then a girl maybe I can make enough at Zero in tips to not have to worry about it needing the third job, it would be nice!" she paused shaking her head a little bit
" I was also wondering if there is a way to find out if my human blood made me allowed to go in the light or not? Like a small UV light or does it have to be the sun"
Evee's eyes got huge. "Um, you're not going out during the day. Fuck that shit."
She shook her head and looked at Vahlour. "Tell her she's not going out in the sun!"
Evee looked back to Reia and shook her head hard. "No. Absolutely not. NO!"
Ehnvee pictured her best friend testing the sun. She'd walk out and poof, she was gone. Her person to forever be ash in the grass. She shivered and shook her head again. "No."
Reia paused looking between the two " Why not? He said there is a small chance that I could still go outside and not have a problem, just as he said some other things could be different to" she would shake her head a little bit as she started to wash the dishes so that Vhalour wouldn't have to.
" I think I should get to know if its going to be a problem, I mean the day is safer than the night since from what both of you have said the lesser things are mostly out at night!"
Reia would sigh a little bit " I can always just test like a small part of my hand or something " she would look between them
" How bad could it be, you said it wasn't like B movies where they just die the second it touches them"
Evee glared at Vahlour. "You said that!? She's still going to instantly burn! And what if she can't heal as fast because she's part human, you going to take care of her?!?"
Ehnvee looked at Reia. "For the record, Lessers are out during the day too. They just attack at night since they know that Vampires come out at night."
Evee turned to glare at Vahlour again, throwing her hands up in the air. "I just can't believe you right now!"
She got up and started pacing. "We're going to take this super slow. You're an infant right now, a baby. Babies need to be protected from things... you just transitioned, I don't want to think about anything else right now. Other then your sex life, because that's less dangerous for you."
Reia was starting to tremble as she washed the dishes a small set of hives breaking out on her neck from the confrontation but before she could even think she slammed a dish down into the sink the glass shattering as she came around the other side of the kitchen to be standing right next to it.
" DAMN IT EVEE SHUT UP! I am not a child...I may be NEW but I am not a freaking child more importantly I am not your freaking child!!!" she growled and it surprised her at just how aggressive it came off.
" I didn't say I was going to run in the sun full force...I asked how we go about testing that I was gathering information weighing the chances and the ways to do it without risking my life, its the ADULT thing to do so you don't get to treat me like a child because I am not acting like one... you however might want a mirror to check yourself in it...pretty sure you're regressing!"
She would scratch at the hives along her neck looking over to her friend " I love you for caring but you're taking it to a stupid place, and you are trying to run my life and treat me as less than you... because I am younger but we both know that my life experiences close that gap significantly.. so back off the PMS train and breath!"
Evee turned, hearing Reia's voice yell at her. What the hell, she was the one being a child, the one acting like her parent, the one thinking less of her?! She glared at Reia and instantly felt the room get cold, her fangs elongating as she got very angry. "Lets get one thing straight here. I do not think of you of any less of a being then I am. And second, you best not talk to me like that ever again!"
Evee turned and took a few steps, her hands going into fists. "REIA!"
She turned around and looked sad in her eyes. "I only freaked out, because I care about you. Not as a child, but as a sister, a best friend. You're my other half and if you think it would be okay for me to go walk outside and test the sun then I'll go right ahead and show you what exactly can happen! Then maybe you'll see what I see. I've lived like this for 100 years now, and even though I may not be sexually active, I've been around the block a few times as a Vampire! I didn't transition TODAY!"
Evee started to pace. She needed to relax. She needed to cool down. Ehnvee was boiling hot, but the air in the room was frigid. What was happening? She hadn't snapped in years. She turned to Reia her eyes softening. "And for the record, I'm not PMSing! If I was I wouldn't be able to stand here! Damn it, all the fucking hell!!!"
Evee crossed her arms in front of her chest, squeezing her forearms hard with her nails. Reia didn't know how dangerous it could be trying new things out. Evee pictured a close friend she once had that was half human, right after her transition, age 26. Decided to walk out in the sun, poof. Never seen again. She was a goner, and hurt badly. Rushed to Havers, pronounced death by sun burns. She had only stepped out for two seconds.
Reia shook her head a little bit and she would look to her " well listen how you are talking to me... I didn't say I was going to run outside and test it I asked if there was a safe way to do it because I want to know if I can or cannot do... .for example, a lesser comes after me in my home I want to know if its close to dawn weather I should go out of the house and risk daylight or if I need to turn the hell around and fight!"
She sighed " look im sorry I got mad but you are acting like I am being stupid, I am aware of the possibles its why I was talking to both of you... you have done this stuff before so I figured I would ask if there was the safe way but I don't think its wrong to want to know" she laughed shaking her head a little bit brushing her fingers along the back of a chair...
" I like the sun, and I know its stupid but I want to know, even if that means I get burned a bit I want to know !" she would sigh leaning back against a wall after moving
" I know you care, and I care of you and you know it but that doesn't mean that we are always going to agree... I will test the sun with or without yours or his help... because I have to make money and most jobs require sunlight!"
Evee shook her head. "Why would a lesser be coming into your apartment?!"
She started to pace again. "I liked the sun too once, okay? I had quite a few years spent outside, because I knew it would be gone forever... so don't push that card at me."
Evee looked at the windows. "It's hard to give up something you love because your genetics are a bitch. Or giving up things you love for the people you love."
She continued to hold onto her arms as she stood still. Her nails making deep indents. Her anger was subsiding which was good, her fangs slowly receding back into her gums. She didn't look at Reia when she proclaimed she'd be doing it with or without her because of the job situation. "You have no idea the job opportunities for vampires in this world. You're just getting into it, which is why I don't understand this 'I know everything' attitude... you could work for Havers, at Safe Place, you could work at the club more often, or both clubs, you could work at Sals more, these are all vampire owned properties! They would understand..."
Evee shook her head and looked towards the door. She was drained, emotionally. Reia had no idea how badly her words hurt her, and she'd never tell. "I should go. I've overstayed my welcome."
Reia shook her head a little bit as she listened to everything she had to say, and at the end of it she would let out a soft laugh of exasperation. Her hands moving to rub at her eyes to keep the frustrated tears at bay as she looked over to her friend, she had never thought they would be arguing like this... and it was a surprise and she almost wanted to give up just to make it end ... but this was important... it could very well change everything.
" Okay, first I apologized and you said it yourself that post trans are usually a little emotional for the first little bit, as their hormones are still trying to find their balance which is why I apologized in the first place. Second and you listen really carefully to me here Ehnvee... I love you...always will and nothing is going to change that... BUT and this is a big but ... you are treating me like a child or like I am being silly for wanting to know my own limitations.... when I am more then sure knowing what you can and cannot do is a smart thing... hell warriors push themselves to find those lines why should we be any different" she would take a breath again she didn't want to get overworked and say things wrong.
" Now on the other front, you knew you would lose sunlight not saying it was easy but it would be easier I think to prepare for it, and another thing... I like my life...its not perfect but I like the jobs I have... I dont want to just give them up for no other reason than because my friend told me how to make decisions for myself... now if I cant take sun light that is fine but if I can then I will keep my jobs as they are probably... because its my choice...my life you are a part of it but you are not in control of how I live it no matter where the effort is coming from!"
She would move to the door opening it her eyes moving over to Ehnvee " Perhaps you have, especially if that is how you are feeling... and perhaps we will postpone our plans you and I ....take a break from one another ..." she would step aside from the door looking to her friend and Evee wasnt' the only one with hurt showing.
Evee took a step to the door and stood outside, turning and looking at Reia with a tear in her eye. "I wasn't trying to tell you what to do, I was trying to show you that you had options, this life, isn't a prison."
She slowly turned, even though she wanted to desperately hug Reia. She got halfway down the hallway to the elevator and fell against the wall. She was a wreck. The tears finally fell now that she was out of the apartment and away from that male. Evee knew if she would have stayed he would have taken Reia's side, it's what she would have done in his shoes. Evee looked around. "Shit."
There was no way she was going to be able to dematerialize now.
